The UCity Summer Band presents 6 outdoor summer band concerts free to the entire St. Louis community. Concerts are presented in the Market on the Loop in University City. The band performs a variety of selections ranging from light classics/marches to contemporary/popular music. Each concert season has a theme. The 2010 Theme is: "The UCity Summer Band is…Marches, Light Classics, Transcriptions, Popular Music, Show Tunes, Original Music for Band, Jazz and Patriotic Music". In addition, for the 2010 season each concert will focus on the music of a prominent Missouri composer. Composers to be featured include Claude Smith, Gackstatter, Joe Pappas, Bill Archer, Scott Joplin, David Holsinger, Jared and Gay Spears. |
